Employee Expenses and Benefits: 2024

Now that the 2023/24 tax year has come to an end, it is time to consider your reporting requirements for P11Ds. If your company provides taxable benefits to employees, it is necessary to complete the annual P11D returns and make payment of any tax due.


Common taxable employee expenses or benefits include the following:

  • Company cars for personal use

  • Fuel provided by the employer for personal use

  • Private health or dental insurance


The deadline for submitting your P11D(b) to HM Revenue & Customs is 6 July 2024. There are penalties if you fail to meet this deadline or submit incorrect information carelessly or deliberately.
